Empowerment

Youth Empowerment ProgrammesThrough micro-finance grants and loans to industrious, low income earners, the Sir Emeka Offor Foundation empowers youth to shape a more productive life. One such programme is the motorcycle transit venture. Motorcycles are purchased and registered at the foundation's expense.  Selected candidates are then given fifteen months to repay the cost and proceeds are invested to provide motorcycles for additional candidates the following year. The Foundation advises participants how to plan and manage their businesses under this successful program. Several have been able to expand their transportation enterprises to include commercial buses and additional employees, thus helping others to help themselves.  The programme has touched over 500 people, each with his own story of how a single, simple gift can make ideas grow.
